Hurricane Michael left a vast debris field from what had been Mexico Beach, Florida. In all the wasteland one structure remained intact and habitable. And that one built by Deltec. Three facts about the 5,000 homes they've built world-wide teach spiritual lessons.
First, while Deltec has a superior rating among competitors, other companies increasingly rival their expertise. Spiritually, however, Jesus Christ remains untouchably God's Sole Authority. "Listen to him," Matthew 17:5, God ordered the disciples at Christ's Transfiguration, and has never since said, "Listen to someone else." That can't be lost on Christians, whatever our diversity-crazed culture desires. Jesus alone is the ONLY ONE God considers. Never has been, never will be, anyone else. Second, Deltec builds specifically-designed and constructed homes, testing each board and joint to meet their rigid specs. They assume inevitable stresses will hit their buildings. Spiritually, Jesus understood testing. God approved of him by immediately after his baptism sending the Holy Spirit as a dove, blessing. Then, the Spirit turned into a Blunt Force Power Driving him into a 40 day and night trial. His experience serves as our model. Rain falls on, streams rise against, and winds blow on all lives, Matthew 7:24-27. Third, Deltec homes can be struck and damaged by hurricanes. Dorian's 175 MPH winds blew debris against the steel shutters of a house, leaving bashes and dents. But the house remained intact.
